Good news: Blogger released a new version of their hosted blogging software and named it blogger beta, now called the New Blogger.
Bad News: It broke the wordpress import feature, its now impossible to import Blogger blogs which hav wordpree been switched to beta into wordpress
Then there were many solutions some of them had so much labor involved they could be used by only the desperate importers. Even I found a solution for this and its comparatively simpler than the rest but there was a problem for blogs with large number (100+) of posts.
But all this is now a matter of the past because the guys at WordPress have worked a solution and fixed the inbuilt import feature but its presently available only for those who have a blog on the wordpress.com hosted platform, the rest of us should wait for them to integrate this new import feature into the next version of wordpress. They wrote about this in a blog post
So for now until it is released the easiest method is to create a blog at wordpress.com, import your New Blogger (Blogger Beta) blog and then again import the wordpress.com blog to your own hosted custom wordpress blog. Done.

I was watching the movie The last Kiss the other day, its a movie about how four friends in their late 20s break their love life and what decisions they make to get back to normal life. If you get a chance to watch this movie dont miss it. There is one quote in the movie that I felt was really worth a mention
Every asshole in the world says he loves somebody, it means nothing. What you feel only matters to you, its what you do to the people you say you love, thats the only thing that matters.

Im not a programming freak but programming simple things intrests me. I prefer learning by example rather than getting all the concept, thats how I learnt HTML and CSS, ofcourse CSS and HTML are not programming languages, anyone who has some common sense and who is not afraid of computer code should be able to write CSS and HTML.
But lately I have been thinking of building some web application, you know Im also inspired by the Web 2.0 boom
. And where ever I go, I see people praising Ruby on Rails (not really) So I thought of giving it a shot.
I have already installed Ruby on Rails (RoR or just Rails) and tried out some tutorials by Onlamp. Felt it was pretty powerful as they said, it can do a lot of things for you!
What I think is a good installation guide was lacking on the Ruby on Rails website
I thought of writing one the next time I find time
so here Im to tell you Im not able to write one now so will do the next time

I opened the okrut homepage to see that it is under construction! No reason, no update, no estimated time of ‘back to service’, nothing. This is so un-Google like. All other Google services i have been using announce anykind of updates or downtime before hand and announce when it is going to be back to normal. This is a social networking service, where people come to meet/talk to other people. How can they be so irresponsible?
orkut is under construction.
please check back soon (=

Update: They have acknowledged the downtime thats something good but no reason for the downtime which is very bad.

A wikipediholic or wikiholic or wikipediaholic is someone with a serious addiction to anything involving the words “Wiki” and/or “Pedia” in the same word or sentence. It is often considered an obscure form of OCD. One of the main, and most common characteristics of the condition is the victim having a web browser window constantly open to the Recent Changes section of Wikipedia (or in the condition’s slightly milder form, one’s Watchlist), and pressing the “Reload” or “Refresh” button with a high frequency. Others click the “random page” button instead. It can lead to a serious decrease in productivity in all other areas of the victim’s life, like any other addiction.
Marphant at Wikipedia has created a tool which automatically tells you how much you are addicted to Wikipedia. This is a nice mod to the original test by Wikipedia which can be found here. I dont think you are going to take the test unless you are really a Wikipediholic or you are the one of the geekest geeks because the test has around 768 questions.
And these are the warnings at the beginning of the test page
